Independent vs Industry: Convergence On The Cards?
India’s commercial film music industry has laid a successful economic structure that arguably created a difficult environment for independent artists - a revenue based model based primarily on mass audience numbers and high investment. While commercial cinema is in India’s DNA, the efforts of film and music independents have been slowly but surely trying to close the gap. Convergence is clearly on the cards, but would independent artists still be able to retain integrity of their content; will commercial film trends change? Can independents strive to command similar investment to build substantially larger audiences?

Some of his notable projects include Maachis, Satya, Chachi 420, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Rang De Basanti, Guru, Maqbool, Omkara, Delhi6, Robot, Vinnaitandi Varuyaya, Sakkarakati, Rockstar, Tamasha and albums Kandisa, Black Friday, Tandanu by Indian Ocean, Rabbi's "Bulla Ki Jaana", Hariharan's Kaash and Waqt Par Bolna, Rekha Bhardwaj's Ishqa Ishqa, Spud in the Box's Attention Please and Lead Feet Paper Shoes, Deepa Nair Rasiya's Destination and Jazim Sharma's Pyaar Bepanah. He recorded and mixed TM Krishna's music film in Dolby Atmos called ONE and is always on the lookout for new talent, to nurture and bring forth.
